Dharmavallabh Swami of Surat Gurukul
Dharmavallabh Dasji is recognized as a Swaminarayan saint, contributing to the traditions and practices within the Swaminarayan Sampradaya. The Swaminarayan Sampradaya, also known as Swaminarayan Hinduism, is rooted in the teachings of Swaminarayan, also known as Sahajanand Swami, who is believed by followers to be a manifestation of Krishna.
Swaminarayan, born Ghanshyam Pande in 1781, initiated a spiritual revival emphasizing moral, personal, and social betterment. He advocated for nonviolence and undertook reforms for women and the poor.
Swaminarayan formalized his teachings through the Shikshapatri and established two dioceses to ensure the continuation of his spiritual lineage. He encouraged devotion, righteous conduct, knowledge, and detachment as paths to salvation.
The Swaminarayan Sampradaya's foundations lie in the life and teachings of Sahajanand Swami, who became known as Swaminarayan after imparting the Swaminarayan mantra. His emphasis on community upliftment and spiritual growth continues to inspire followers.
Swaminarayan's Teachings

The Swaminarayan Mantra
Sahajanand Swami became known as Swaminarayan after teaching the Swaminarayan mantra. He gave his followers this new mantra to repeat in their rituals.
Gurukul Tradition
